Village of Cumberland Council Meeting

Report by Councillor Roger Kishi

I am humbled and honoured to have been elected to the Village of Cumberland Council on November 19. We waited until almost midnight to get the vote results.

Thanks to residents of Cumberland for entrusting me as one of their representatives for the next three years. I shall endeavour to represent everyone to my best ability, in a fair and reasoned manner. At the same time, recognizing that I won`t be able to please everyone all the time, and that I am only human, so may make some mistakes along the way.

I intend to follow through on my campaign theme of: inform, engage, involve, by working with Council and staff to increase civic engagement. I look forward to working with this newly elected Council on positive results for the Village of Cumberland, and representing the interests of Cumberland on the Comox Valley Housing Task Force, Comox Strathcona Regional Hospital District and Solid Waste Management.

Along with the serious business of being a Councillor, I intend to have some fun also. Whether it`s Santa`s Pancake Breakfast, Empire Days, or just having a discussion over coffee, life`s too short not to have some fun.
